Ink and colors on paper, framed under glass in a passepartout. Signed lower right: painted in the style of Bujun Shiban (1178-1249) by Hogen Toshun, and sealed. Signed lower left: written in the first year of the Kyowa year (1801) .... by Nakamura... Formerly from an old South German private collection, acquired before 2007 - Minor age damage, mounted together in the center of the picture Portrait des Bodhidharma (Daruma) auf einem Thron sitzend Japan, signiert Hogen Toshun (Kano Yoshinobu, 1747-1797) und Siegel, Edo-Periode 50 x 39 cm (66 x 53 cm R.)     KANŌ TOSHUN (1747-1797) Landscape with figures 32,5 x 56,8 cm Vertical hanging scroll painted in ink and soft colours, silk frame Signed狩野洞春筆 (Kanō Toshun fude) with seal on the right side. Provenance: an Italian private collection. Son of Kanō Gensen (1689-1755) e disciple of Kanō Toshu (-1785), Toshun became the fourth generation head of the Edo Surugadai branch of the Kanō School, receiving the important honorary title of hōgen. His most famous work is the decoration in the Rinnōji temple.
