  • Original Vintage WWII Dig Down Deep Poster by Kanelous 1945 7th War Loan
    Jun. 20, 2024

Original Vintage WWII Dig Down Deep Poster by Kanelous 1945 7th War Loan

    Est: $400 - $700

This poster was used to encourage the public to make a last final effort and buy war bonds to ensure a quick and total victory. Uncle Sam hands a farmer bonds in exchange for money, as a battlefield forms the background. The 7th War Loan raised over $26 billion in 48 days, even though officials were concerned that the defeat of Germany could decrease the sale of bonds. George Kanelous (1915-1998) was an American illustrator and muralist. Born in Uruguay to Greek parents, Kanelous emigrated to America in 1918. In addition to his WWII posters, Kanelous created many public murals in the 1930s for the WPA. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and is in very good condition. There has been some minor restoration along the fold marks. We guarantee the authenticity of all of our posters.
