        Jeno Juszko New York / Hungary, (1880-1954) Portrait bust of a young girl with ringlet curls bronze Signed to back of head. Biography from the Archives of askART: A sculptor noted for portrait busts of famous personages, especially World War I figures such as General John J. Pershing and Marshal Ferdinand Foch, Jeno Juszko was Hungarian born and settled in New York City. There he was a WPA artist. His bust of General George Henry Thomas was one of five presented officially by the WPA Federal Art Project* to the city and specifically to the Grant Monument Association, whose members placed the busts in the crypt of Grant's Tomb. In 1919, he completed a painted plaster portrait bust of Theodore Roosevelt. He also designed medallions* including Eugene V. Debbs and the Ezra Meeker Plaquette in bronze, which was issued by George Dupont Pratt, the founder of the Society of Medalists*, as a personal medal.
