    Richard JOSEY (British, 1840-1906): "Arrangement in Gray and Black, No. 2 - Portrait of Thomas Carlyle" Mezzotint on wove paper, mounted on board, 1872-78. Reference: O'Donoghue 13. Composition after James McNeill Whistler. "Arrangement, No. 1" is Whistler's famous "Portrait of the Artist's Mother", which was also published by Henry Graves, London. With the blindstamp of the "Printsellers Association", London (Lugt 251). Signed by the artist and signed "Whistler" in pencil. Image size: 13 7/8 x 11 5/8 inches.
