      Incised and painted in underglaze blue and green with four water lilies trailing long bundled stems and floating on a cobalt blue "water" ground, Newcomb pottery cipher and conjoined initials "HJ," in underglaze-green, incised initials "HJ," impressed letter "U" for white clay body, and registration number "O 19" in underglaze-blue. Height 15 3/4 inches.
