Excellent original condition Václav Jirásek (Czech, b. 1965) One of the foremost representatives of the younger generation of Czech photographers, Václav Jirásek studied painting the Prague Academy of Fine Arts. At the end of the 1980s, Jirásek founded the controversial group Brotherhood, along with other photographers, writers, artists and musicians, whose works are influenced by 1950s Social Realism. His works are imbued with an element of dark humor, which distances the viewer from the image, creating an impression of uncertainty. This is also true of Jirásek's staged photographs, which make use of archetypes from the biblical tradition, Romanticism, the Gothic, and the Fin de siècle.
