Jensen. 1888’ Remains of an old typographic label ‘EXPOSITION UNIVER[…] BEAUX-ARTS-DANOIS’ as well as further hand-written labels on the reverse side of the frame and the stretcher Dimensions: 49.5 x 56.5 cm Decorative golden frame: 76 x 84 cm Good condition Jensens’s paintings are characteristic for their unusual perspectives and chosen views that seem to bring the audience immediately into the center of the depiction Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 3,600 Euro Condition: The painting is in good condition, consistent with age. The canvas is relined and shows light marks, where the frame has rubbed. Inspection under UV light reveals scattered areas of retouching. The stretcher measures 49.5 x 56.5 cm. The frame shows small traces of use and measures 76 x 84 cm. Jens Thomsen Jensen (1862-1925) The Danish painter Jens Thomsen Jensen studied at the art academy in Copenhagen, from 1880 to 1883. He was mainly active in Skanderborg, but finally moved to Copenhagen in 1915. His works were exhibited, for instance, at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1889.
