FERENC JECKEL (HUNGARIAN, 1950-2012) The Talmud A portrait of Rabbi with student Oil on board Signed Ferenc Jeckel (1950-2012) was born in Budapest, Hungary. Jeckel studied painting at the Fine and Applied Arts School, Budapest, under the tutelage of painter, Benedek Jeno. In his early career, Jeckel concentrated on pencil and red chalk drawings of the human body, later turning to oils in his portraits and depictions of local Hungarian people, especially those of the Jewish faith. He exhibited works at the Csili Cultural Centre, Budapest and the Anys Gallery, Brussels. His works can be seen at the Hungarian Jewish Museum and Archives, Budapest.15¾ x 11¾ inches (40 x 30 cm.)
