Acquatinta. mm 440x665. Foglio: mm 616x815. Titolata in basso al centro. Pubblicata da Goupil a Parigi e da Gambart a Londra in 1850. Fu questa celebre incisione a dare il titolo Les illusion perdues all'altrettanto famoso dipinto di Gleyre che era stato originariamente esposto al Salon del 1843 col titolo Le soir. Il quadro fu acquisito dal Musée du Luxenbourg e si trova attualmente al Louvre.
