    Paper board, paper Vienna, around 1910 Urban Janke (1887-1915) – Austrian illustrator and designer, Wiener Werkstätte artist’s monogram ‘UJ’ in image Square based boxes with characteristic stripe pattern and colour printing with Wiener Werkstätte postcard motif Dimensions: large box 7.2 x 12.2 x 12.2 cm (h x w x d); small box 5.3 x 11.9 x 11.9 cm (h x w x d) Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 280 EUR These two candy boxes are made of paper board pasted up with paper. The motifs are views of the castle garden of Schönbrunn and the Hofzuckerbäckerei Demel in Vienna. Urban Janke, an Austrian illustrator and designer, drawed these images around 1910 as postcards for the Wiener Werkstätte. The bigger box measures 12,2 x 12,2 x 7,2 cm. The smaller box measures 11,9 x 11,9 x 5,3 cm. The boxes are in age-related condition with partly torn rims and some holes.
