(Beveren-Waas, 1599 - Torino, 1663) Scena di genere Olio su tela, cm 52X37 Il dipinto esprime indubbiamente i caratteri del maestro, non solo per la sua aderenza ai modi del Cerquozzi ma altresì per la stesura e le tipologie fisionomiche. Miel è documentato a Roma dal 1636, ma è verosimile che vi sia giunto già nel 1633 e la sua adesione al genere bambocciante non sorprende, in quanto fu notevole per quella generazione di artisti l'influenza di Pieter van Laer, che diffuse la moda di descrivere la vita quotidiana della Città Eterna. La tela consente d'apprezzare la cura con cui l'artista descrive i diversi protagonisti, le loro gestualità e indumenti, attenzione che indica una visione e uno studio dal vero della vita quotidiana, letta e interpretata senza filtri letterari ma con spiccato naturalismo, sincero e appassionato, impossibile da archiviare sbrigativamente nell'ambito dell'aneddotica o della cronaca spicciola ma altresì da leggere quale fenomeno denso di motivazioni culturali. L'immagine della finestra aperta adottato da Giuliano Briganti è quindi la via critica migliore per comprendere questo particolare filone della pittura dell'età barocca, il cui il nominativo di bambocciante, come rimarca lo studioso, può risultare un diminutivo grottesco ed ingiusto, da non tenere in simpatia. Linschoten's striking map of Eastern Africa and the Indian Ocean, filled with cartographic and iconographic details, including sailing ships and sea battles, sea monsters, animals within Africa, compass roses, and a strap-work cartouche. This map shows the eastern side of Africa and part of the Indian Ocean, including Madagascar, with the extreme southern portions of present-day India and Ceylon appearing in the upper right corner.

(Bruges, 1523 - Firenze, 1605) Scena di caccia Olio su tavola, cm 19X29 L'opera reca un'attribuzione collezionistica a Jan Van Der Straet, artista che in Italia è noto con il nome di Giovanni Stradano. Oltre a collaborare col Vasari alla decorazione dello Studiolo di Francesco I in Palazzo Vecchio, il pittore fu attivo come incisore e disegnatore di cartoni per la manifattura medicea di arazzi. Caratterizzato da alcune asprezze tipicamente nordiche, lo Stradano riuscì brillantemente a coniugare la tradizione fiamminga con i modi del manierismo fiorentino. Nel nostro caso si percepiscono analogie con le opere di Paolo Fiammingo e dal punto di vista compositivo con la produzione grafica, a sua volta prossima a quella di Antonio Tempesta.

(Bruges, 1523 - Firenze, 1605) Cacciata dei mercanti dal tempio Olio su tela, cm 155X212 L'opera in esame reca un'attribuzione collezionistica a Jan Van Der Straet, in Italia meglio noto con il nome di Giovanni Stradano. Oltre a collaborare col Vasari alla decorazione dello Studiolo di Francesco I in Palazzo Vecchio, il pittore fiammingo fu infatti molto attivo come incisore e disegnatore di cartoni per la manifattura medicea di arazzi, oltre che operoso nella produzione di numerosissime pale d'altare e ritratti. Caratterizzato da alcune asprezze tipicamente nordiche, Lo Stradano riuscì brillantemente a coniugare la tradizione fiamminga con i modi del manierismo fiorentino. La tela in esame, infatti, trova interessanti corrispondenze con quella di simile soggetto custodita a Firenze nella chiesa di Santo Spirito e datata 1572, tuttavia, il carattere arcaico di questa in esame e i forti caratteri nordici suggerirebbe una datazione più antica.
