    Anton Jahn, attr., Reiterei auf der Landstraße dramatische Szene mit gnomenhaften Reitern mit Lanzen, bei der Verfolgung eines Wanderburschen vorm Wirtshaus mit dem bezeichnenden Wirtshausschild "In der Sonne 1813", fein mit spitzem Pinsel lasierend festgehaltene Tier- und Genremalerei, Öl auf Leinwand, links unten unscheinbar ligiert signiert und undeutlich datiert "A. Jahn 1833 [oder 1835]", rückseitig fragmentarisches gedrucktes Etikett mit handschriftlicher Nummer "L. Rettenmayer 966 Wiesbaden", Craquelure, wohl doubliert, Farbplatzer, restaurierungsbedürftig, im originalen Goldstuckrahmen (etwas restaurierungsbedürftig) gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 72,5 x 60,5 cm. Künstlerinfo: eigentlich Anton Arnold Jahn, dt. Genre-, Tier- und Portraitmaler sowie Lithograph (1810 Koblenz bis 1841 Koblenz), tätig erwähnt in Koblenz, 1842 posthum vertreten auf der Berliner Akademieausstellung, Quelle: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Brauksiepe "Künstlerlexikon – 250 Maler in Rheinland-Pfalz 1450–1950" und "Amtsblatt der Preußischen Regierung zu Koblenz: Nr. 6 für das Jahr 1834". Anton Jahn, attr, Reiterei auf der Landstraße dramatic scene with gnomelike horsemen with lances, pursuing a traveller in front of an inn with the inscribed inn sign "In der Sonne 1813", finely glazed animal and genre painting with a pointed brush, oil on canvas, inconspicuously signed and indistinctly dated "A. Jahn 1833 [or 1835]", on the reverse fragmentary printed label with handwritten number "L. Rettenmayer 966 Wiesbaden", craquelure, probably relined, colour loss, in need of restoration, framed in original gilt stucco frame (somewhat in need of restoration), rebate dimensions approx. 72.5 x 60.5 cm. Artist information: actually Anton Arnold Jahn, German genre, animal and portrait painter and lithographer (1810 Koblenz to 1841 Koblenz), mentioned as active in Koblenz, represented posthumously at the Berlin Academy Exhibition in 1842, source: Thieme-Becker, Saur "Bio-Bibliographisches Künstlerlexikon", Brauksiepe "Künstlerlexikon - 250 Maler in Rheinland-Pfalz 1450-1950" and "Amtsblatt der Preußischen Regierung zu Koblenz: Nr. 6 für das Jahr 1834".
