        Walnut, solid, metal Switzerland, 1994 Wilhelm Jaeger (* 1941) – Swiss artist Signed and dated on the base lower left ‘Wilhelm Jaeger 94’ Dimensions: 178 x 61.5 x 14.5 cm (height x width x depth) Good condition, fully functional The lamp was made by the Swiss artist Wilhelm Jaeger in 1994. The massive body rests on a transverse rectangular timber base. The lamp socked is mounted at the end of the high square wooden shaft. The metallic lamp shade is reminiscent of a spreading wrinkled sheet of paper. The body shows closeness to the Kubus-Pfahl-Figur of the artists. The lamp is signed and dated on the base lower left ‘Wilhelm Jaeger 94’. It is in good fully functional condition, only several slightly soiled areas can be found. He created a dynamic composition in square format. Its vibrant effect emerges from its crossed black brush strokes and the arrow shape pointing to the floor. The painting is signed, dated, titled ‘Wilhelm Jäger 94 Zyklus VII a, 5’ on the reverse. Underneath it bears a personal dedication from the artist. It is in very good condition. The artist who started to be concerned with religious themes in 1996 shows here symbols of the Christian visual language in powerful brush strokes. The object is furnished of wooden slats and shows a simplified depiction of a crown of thorns and a crucifix. The reverse side is equipped with an iron piece and a suspension.
