The Frenchman Christophe Jacrot is a photographic flâneur in the finest Baudelairean sense. He continuously plunges into New York, Paris, London or Hong Kong to photograph and bring to light fleeting, everyday moments in their full poetic density and romantic charisma. The weather plays a central role in his pictures, as Jacrot only photographs under rainy or snowy conditions. The present work 'Man On Broadway' is a typical example of his artistic output and presents the famously lively Broadway in winter, but quiet and almost empty of people.
