Growing up with two painters, contemporary British artist Kurt Jackson was encouraged in the arts at an early age, gaining first-hand experience in his father's studio. Family vacations to the Cornish coast also influenced him, where Jackson's father painted open-air landscapes. He had traveled the world before attending St. Peters College in Oxford, where he majored in zoology. After graduating, he began painting the landscapes near Oxford, eventually settling in Cornwall, where he still lives with his wife and three children.
