Alvaro Izurieta Sold at Auction Prices

b. 1944 -

Alvaro Izurieta was born in Buchardo, Province of Córdoba in 1944. From childhood he started drawing.

In 1988 he entered Figueroa Alcorta School of Fine Arts in Córdoba , Argentina .

In 1970 attended sculptor Anonio Pujía¨s courses in Buenos Aires .

Masters Francisco Vidal and Henry Aran, guided him to start in painting in oil and pastels.

In 1995 the Presidency of the Argentina Nation purchased his work “The Virgin Girl” which is at the Vatican Museum .

In 1995 he was hired by the Favaloro Foundation to paint a portrait of that prestigious cardiologist.

His portraits are part of the Presidents and Rectors Galleries at Cordoba National University and Academy of Sciences .

He has illustrated several publications, books and music discs cover.

In 2002 he made exhibitions in Prato and Firenze , Italy .

In 2003 he made a Solo Show at Cerrito Art Gallery in Córdoba.

In 2005 he changed his expression way, including to his figures a more intensive contrast and colour.

These new works were exhibited in a solo show in Cerrito Art Gallery , Cordoba , in April 2005.

In 2005 he has participated in Art Fair “Arte Clásica” in Buenos Aires represented by Cerrito Art Gallery .

Since 1981, he lives and works in Unquillo, Province of Córdoba .
