      CARL SPRINCHORN (American, 1887-1971) PARIS PROMENADE.

      Pen, ink and wash drawing of two women in fancy dress in front of a columned building front. Titled "Paris, 1914" and signed in pencil "C.Sp.". With funds that Carl Sprinchorn saved from his 1913 teaching job at the Los Angeles Art Institute, he made a lengthy trip the next year to Paris and his Swedish homeland. Throughout his early career, he made many drawings of society women from memory and imagination. Housed in a period frame with glass and matte. SIZE: 14" x 11". PROVENANCE: Estate of the artist. CONDITION: Very good, white spot repair on right margin. 9-21985
