      JOHN E HYETT (British, 1887-1936) A plaster bust of Charles Marshall, Ironmonger of Cheltenham, signed and dated 1906 to the reverse, 26" high Note: Charles Marshall (1825-1915) of Ashmeade Lodge, Leckhampton Hill, Cheltenham was responsible for a considerable amount of the decorative iron work in Cheltenham. This sculpture was completed in July 1906, just before Marshall's 81st Birthday. John Heyett exhibited at the Royal Academy, and sculpted many busts of contemporary dignitaries, including Sir Richard Vassar-Smith, (Governor Pates School and Boys and Ladies Colleges, Cheltenham), Andrew Bonar Law (Prime Minister) and the Victorian novelist Mary Elizabeth Maxwell (Miss Braddon).
