Oil on canvas Anton Huxoll (1808-1840) - German historical painter of the Düsseldorf School Signed lower right ‘Huxol’ Dimensions: 88 x 110.5 cm Decorative stuccoed frame: 115.5 x 137 cm Large-format historical painting executed in fine brushwork, in the style of Nazarene art, especially the figures impress with their sophisticated flesh tone and the skillful lighting Good condition Condition: The painting was restored and is in good overall condition consistent with age. The canvas was partially strengthened with canvas patches. The paint surface shows some slight craquelure and partially rubbings due to the frame. The inspection under UV light reveals two large tears to the center of the depiction as well as several retouchings to the sky and figures. The frame shows signs of wear and few cracks. The dimensions of the painting are 88 x 110.5 cm, the frame measures 115.5 x 137 cm. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
