Born in London in 1861, Walter Hunt, an artist best known as an outstanding animal painter, rose to relative prominence in England for his portrayals of dogs, horses, and calves and for his intricate attention to detail and color. Walter Hunt's paintings were influenced from growing up in an artistic family, with his father Charles and brother Edgar also recognized painters.
