    Richard Hunt 1935-2023 Hybrid Muse 1985 bronze sculpture on a wooden base 19-1/2 x 9 x 6 inches (overall height with base is 23 inches) This work was originally commissioned in 1985 by the Illinois Arts Council Foundation, for The Governor's Award, and is pictured on p. 225 of Richard Hunt (published by Gregory R. Miller & Co., New York). It was also featured on the cover of the program for the May 26, 1986, Lill Ave performance . Five winners were presented the 1987 Governor's Awards for the Arts in Illinois in November, at Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois. John Nuveen and Company Inc. were investment bankers who made it possible for the Lyric Opera of Chicago's 1986-87 season to be broadcast when its former sponsor had to withdraw support. Winners received a sculpture commissioned by the Illinois Arts Council and executed by Illinois artist Richard Hunt, a former member of the Illinois Arts Council and the National Council for the Arts.
