    Lawrence Holofcener (American-British, 1926-2017) 'David Ben-Gurion and Golda Meir', a bronze relief, stamped with 'holofcener' and numbered '1/25' u.l. 33.5cm wide 4cm deep 24.5cm high This double portrait of David Ben-Gurion (1886-1973), the first Prime Minister of Israel, and Golda Meir (1898-1978), the fourth Prime Minister of Israel and only female Prime Minister of Israel to date, is part of the 'Icons of the 20th Century' series. In this series, Holofcener features portraits of many greats including Albert Einstein, John F Kennedy and John Lennon. Lawrence Holofcener is perhaps best known for 'Allies', the sculpture of Winston Churchill and Franklin D Roosevelt on New Bond Street in London. In addition to his work as a sculptor, he was a Broadway actor and songwriter of hits, including 'Too Close for Comfort' (1956). Condition Report: Presents well. Upper left corner edge has area of sharper metal, perhaps a little loss has caused this. A little dust in crevices.
