    PETR HOLEČEK 1976 - MEOW

    Est: -

Petr Holeček first studied art education in České Budějovice and then a course in drawing in Ireland, and in 2004 he settled in Ireland and became an assistant in the studio of sculptor Patrick O. Reilly. In Petr Holeček's works we encounter a poetic-ironising level, which builds on analogies to motifs from mythology, dreams and the collective unconscious, but with a bit of human humour. PETR HOLEČEK 1976 - DREAMING

    Est: -

After Petr Holeček discovers the technique of casting bronze into a lost mould, his artistic work takes a fundamental turn. This material and technology allows him to materialize previously unrealized thoughts and ideas. It is Dreaming, using the almost limitless possibilities of this technique, that expresses the potential of the theme of dreaming itself, which in the sculpture metaphorically floats above the darker and coarser matter like an imaginary golden bubble. In the artist's work, he gradually abandons abstract representation and the bronze sculptures take on an increasingly figurative character. He regularly participates in major sculpture exhibitions in Ireland, and has also presented at exhibitions in Poland and the Czech Republic. In 2010 he was awarded the Mill Cove Award at The 25th Sculpture in Context Exhibition in Ireland. Signed: signed on the base: Holi

    PETR HOLEČEK 1976 - ORIGAMI 1200 BC

    Est: -

Objevuje techniku odlévání bronzu do ztracené formy. Tento materiál a technologie mu umožňuje zhmotňovat doposud nerealizované myšlenky a ideje. Postupně opouští abstraktní ztvárnění a bronzové plastiky nabírají stále více figurativní charakter. Pravidelně se účastní významných sochařských výstav v Irsku, dále se prezentoval na výstavách v Polsku a v České republice. V roce 2010 získal Mill Cove Award at The 25th Sculpture in Context Exhibition v Irsku. Signed: signed on the leg: HOLI

In Petr Holeček's works we encounter a poetic-ironising level, which builds on analogies to motifs from mythology, dreams and the collective unconscious, but with a bit of human humour. Petr Holeček pushes the material possibilities of bronze and often creates sculptures out of solid and heavy metal, which affect the senses with their airiness and give the impression that they are perhaps even lightened by air. In Petr Holeček's works, we encounter a poetically-ironic level, which builds on analogies to motifs from mythology, dreams and collective unconscious, but with a bit of human humor. Petr Holeček shifts the material possibilities of bronze and often creates sculptures from solid and heavy metal such as bronze, which touches the senses with their airiness and create the impression that they are perhaps even lightened by air. Holeček first studied art in České Budějovice before taking a drawing course in Ireland. From 2004 he settled in Ireland and worked as an assistant in the studio of sculptor Patrick O'Reilly. This artistic encounter had a fundamental impact on the future direction of Holeček's work. He discovered the technique of casting bronze using the lost form process. The material and technology allow him to give shape to as yet unexecuted ideas. He gradually departed from abstract forms and his bronze sculptures took on a more figurative character. When Petr Holeček discovered the technique of casting bronze into a lost form, there is a fundamental twist in his artistic work. This material and technology allows him to materialize hitherto unrealized thoughts and ideas. It is Dreaming that embodies both the endless possibilities of this technique and the potential of dreaming itself, which hovers over darker and coarser matter like an imaginary golden bubble. Gradually, it leaves the abstract rendering and bronze sculptures take on an increasingly figurative character. He regularly participates in major sculpture exhibitions in Ireland, and has also presented exhibitions in Poland and the Czech Republic. In 2010, he won the Mill Cove Award at The 25th Sculpture in Context Exhibition in Ireland. Technique: Bronze, Signed: On the stand "Holeček"

Sisyphus pushing a boulder up a hill is one of the popular allegories of superhuman efforts to overcome obstacles. But perhaps it was his incredible effort and cunningness that saved his son Odysseus many times during his adventures.
