He also studied watercolor with John Pike, the prominent Woodstock, N.Y., artist who was in turn a pupil of Richard Miller. Hoffman was a founding member and past president of the Columbus Watercolor Society and also a board member of the Ohio Watercolor Society. He exhibited in both Societies annual shows and in national exhibitions in which he won many major awards. His body of work spans a 50 year period and his paintings are found in collections throughout the East and Midwest.
