Deucker worked among others in Darmstadt, Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Deucker had received his first lessons from his father - a wood engraver - and then studied in Munich and Milan. In Frankfurt he became head of the drawing school founded by Georg Jospeh Cöntgen. He mostly engraved historical or biblical scenes after models by contemporary artists.
