    ADOLPH HOFER (1869-?) E. & O. MERZBACHER PELZE. Circa 1910.

    Est: $2,000 - $3,000

43 1/2x30 1/2 inches. Reichhold, Munich. Condition A-: repaired tears in margins. Hofer designed two posters for this furrier, one with a woman walking her dogs, and this one, where she is in the fitting room, admiring her looks from all angles, draped in a long fur stole. Emulating Hohlwein, Hofer uses no black outline for his image, which, along with the color scheme, builds a warm, sensuous scene. Maitres 1900 p. 166, DFP III 1279, Munchen p, 200 no. 303.
