          FRANKLYN HEISLER (Canadian, 1949-) "Chinese Style Ceramic Pot" - Fired ceramic. Signed on bottom. 9.5 x 7 x 7 inches. Very good condition, some handling marks noted. From the estate of Rick Harvey (1941-2021), professor in the English Department of the University of Regina for 40 years, whose art collection focused on Saskatchewan paintings and ceramics, often from artists he knew personally.

He went on to receive his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Regina in 1978. Heisler became a well respected ceramic artists at the forefront of contemporary ceramic art in Canada in the 1970s and 80s. He also developed a keen interest in the history of ceramics, which allowed him to lecture on the subject at many Canadian universities. Due to health issues, Heisler was forced to stop working in ceramics, but continued his career as a curator and museum educator.
