Julia Hawkins Sold at Auction Prices

Julia Hawkins was born in 1962 in the Soviet Union. She trained in the 1980s at the Latvian Academy of Arts, but it was the Russian school that really formed her as an artist. She has lived and worked in Britain since 1990.

The artist is influenced by life and aesthetics of our time, but always tries to learn from the many great painters who preceeded us and who made tradition living and relevant today. Most of her works are lyrical and intimate, they are often painted Alla prima, which allows the artist more freedom to follow the first impression and to convey the mood.
