Albumen print, the image measuring 13 1/4x11 1/4 inches (33.7x28.6 cm.), the modern mount 18 3/4x15 inches (47.6x38.1 cm.). 1850s Provenance: The David Feigenbaum Collection of Southworth & Hawes, Sotheby's, April 27, 1999, New York After breaking up the most recognized partnership of the Daguerreian period, Hawes began to produce albumen prints of the Boston area. He continued to work as a photographer until his death at 93. Exhibited: The Photograph and the American Dream, 1840-1940, the Van Gogh Museum, and is reproduced in the accompanying catalogue, p. 83
