      Bronze with patina on granite base Germany, 20th century Walter Hauschild (1876-1969) – German sculptor Inscribed ‘Hauschild’ on the base Dimensions: 15 x 10 ½ in. (38.1 x 26.7 cm) Very good condition Estimate: $6,000-$8,000 Walter Hauschild (1876-1969) Walter Hauschild was a German artist known for his animal sculptures, some of which can be found in the Berlin Zoo, as well as in museums in Leipzig, Rostock, and Bautzen. Hauschild also had some figurative sculptures that were produced by the Royal Porcelain Factory in Berlin. Walter Hauschild studied at the art academies of Leipzig and Berlin, where he was tutored by Reinhold Begas. Starting 1901, Hauschild had several German exhibitions, among which the International Art Exhibition in Bremen in 1906. From 1908 to 1919, he was represented as an animal sculptor at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition. Hauschild also was a sculpture professor at the State Art School in Berlin-Schöneberg. Condition One very minor chip to the side of the stone base. In overall very good condition with patina. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
