    Donald Eric Hatfield (Born 1947) At The Beach Oil on Canvas. Artist signed on lower left. Donald Hatfield was born in 1947, and lives in Napa, California. He first became involved in art while a graduate student in divinity at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, in the late 1960s and early '70s. He is a painter in impressionist style that softly blends figures of realism with the gentle touch of classic impressionism. Hatfield strives to create paintings that bond themselves to the viewer. In the vein of romantic impressionism. He shows the viewer that beauty can arise from one stirring moment such as a family reunion, a young boy searching for shells on the beach, or the warmth of the sun touching a mother and her child.
