          Childe Frederick Hassam, American, 1859 to 1935, oil on board painting The Sea Breeze, depicting a seascape in an impressive impasto technique. Housed in a richly ornate gilt wood and gesso frame with a metal name plate below. Childe Hassam is known for Flag parades, figure and interior scene painting, and etchings. Born in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Childe Hassam became one of Americas most noted Impressionist painters, but he never labelled himself in that way asserting he was more interested in the emotional content of his paintings than the technique of applying color. He also completed over 350 etchings and drypoints and about 45 lithographs, most of them after he was 56 years old. Watercolor was another specialty, and Hassam was one of the founders of the New York Watercolor Society. One of a kind artwork.           Vintage George Washington 'The Bicentennial Pageant' Original Set of Twenty Etchings from 1932, signed and numbered by each artist. A collection of twenty etchings made by selected artists to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. Each etching is signed by the respective artist at the time of issue. Included among the artists are Childe Hassam, William Auerbach-Levy, Ralph Boyer, Samuel Chamberlain, Kerr Eby, Sears Gallagher, Arthur William Heintzelman, Eugene Higgins, Earl Horter, Robert Lawson, Allen Lewis, F. Luis Mora, Robert H. Nisbet, Louis C. Rosenberg, Ernest David Roth, Albert Sterner, Walter Tittle, Levon West, J.W. Winkler, and George Wright.
