          ATTRIBUÉ À JOHN HASLEM (1808-1884). Portrait de la jeune reine Victoria de Grande-Bretagne dans sa loge à l’Opéra. Peint sur une grande plaque en porcelaine, conservée dans un encadrement ancien en bois doré sculpté de motifs stylisés. Légères usures du temps, mais bon état général. À vue : H. : 29,5 cm — L. : 24 cm. Cadre : H. : 49,5 cm — L. : 45 cm. Historique : cette grande miniature sur porcelaine est inspirée du portrait peint par Edmond Thomas Parris (1793-1873) représentant la même scène, mais avec une variante dans les couleurs et les détails. Sur ce portrait datant de 1837, la jeune souveraine apparaît au balcon de la loge royale portant une tiare russe en diamant, qui fut porté par l’actuelle souveraine de Grande-Bretagne lors de son mariage en 1947. Ce portrait se trouve actuellement dans les collections de la reine Élisabeth II au palais de Kensington.
