Artist Ernest William Haslehust was born in London in 1866. Best known for his landscape watercolors of the English countryside, Haslehust studied at the Slade School of Fine Art before exhibiting at the Royal Academy in London. He was a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour.

As a watercolor painter, Haslehust contributed to numerous publications including the 36 volumes of Beautiful England published in 1910. Through his color palette, artist Ernest William Haslehust's work captures both the bleakness and wild nature of his rural settings as well as its beauty.
