Hartung” At the back inscribed with “Witikon ZH” Overall dimensions, framed: 52 x 60 cm Very good condition These landscape paintings by the Swiss artist Wilhelm Hartung show in one painting the view onto a small village. In the right foreground of this harmonious composition are some chickens discernible. The other painting shows a view of the village Witikon, which became in 1934 part of the borough of Zurich. Following a little brook from the lower centre of the image, the gaze of the viewer is directed towards the village, with the Old Church Witikon on the left hand side. This church is still today, the highest situated church of Zurich. The oil paintings “Witikon” and “Village” are in very good condition. Paintings and frames show only minimal traces of age and wear. One painting is signed lower left with “W. Hartung” and at the back inscribed with “Witikon ZH“. The other show two label at the back „Wilhelm Hartung 1879-1957“ and „Der unterzeichnete bestätigt, dass dieses Bild 63 „Schulerweg“ von seinem Vater Wilhelm Hartung gemalt wurde Armin Hartung“. Each overall dimensions are 52 x 60 cm. (afi) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
