Artist John Cuthbert Hare was a water colorist during the early 1900s. In 1935, he exhibited his artwork in St. Augustine, Florida, and later became a member of the St. Augustine Art Association. Harbor scenes, seascapes, and images of boats are the products of painter John Hare's long camping trips with his wife in the 30s.

Artist John Cuthbert Hare also created illustrations for newspapers before choosing to become a full-time artist.
