Carole Hanson Art for Sale at Auction

Carole is renowned for her design of large scale sculpture for landscape settings. During the 1960's, Carole was heavily influenced by the resources found near her Mainehome: a place close to both the Atlanticand to her father, a master metal craftsman.

Carole studied at the Hartford Art School, in Hartford, CT, followed by an apprenticeship in New York City. During her travels through Europe and Mexico, Carole continued to study and work independently on her art. Before returning to her native Maine, Carole made her mark in stone in the American Southwest.

Carole's sculptures in many media include figures, animals, and natural forms, all powerfully designed to enforce Carole's philosophy that art's legitimate function is to promote happiness.

Carole’s Thoughts:

"Beauty is my aim and end; for me, there is no other purpose. People will say how art can challenge and create culture; provoke and disturb. I say that beauty reaches higher; is timeless, lasting, and above the fray. We need it now, more than ever.
The turn of a natural form, the pleasing shape of a leaf, the eloquent play of texture and design; the invitation to touch; the happiness in the soul when this magic strikes us, like music, and we say, Ah, yes.. (that Ah is important to me.)
Something from within the form that radiates with the presence of grace. Images that inspire emotion and a profound sense of peace. All this is my happiness as I create my sculptures and share them with you."
