After Wouwerman, Dutch painter of the Baroque period.The depiction shows a battle of horsemen with a rising horse in the centre, which is being shot at. In the background a burning windmill can be seen on a hill.Franz Hanfstaengl was a German painter and lithographer. He won a gold medal at the Paris World's Fair in 1855 for showing retouched photographs. Franz Hanfstaengl is therefore considered the inventor of negative retouching. From 1825 to 1833 he created a lithographic collection of portraits of important Bavarian personalities ("Corpus Imaginum"). As a portrait lithographer of the Munich society Hanfstaengl, called "Graf Litho", soon enjoyed great popularity. stamped ‘FRANZ HANFSTAENGL MUNCHEN’ (on the reverse) lithograph on paper 47.4 x 35.4 cm (each) Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl was a Bavarian painter, lithographer, and photographer. Nicknamed «Count Litho», Hanfstaengl gained popularity by producing lithographic portraits of Munich society. In 1833, he founded his own lithographic establishment in Munich, which he ran until 1868, and to which he later added an art print shop and, in 1853, a photographic studio. Between 1835 and 1852, Franz Hanfstaengl produced some 200 lithographic reproductions of masterpieces from the Dresden picture gallery. Later he became a court photographer and took portraits of the young King Ludwig II of Bavaria, Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner, Otto von Bismarck, the Austrian Empress Elisabeth and many others.

From 1825 to 1833 he created a lithographic collection of portraits of important Bavarian personalities ("Corpus Imaginum"). As a portrait lithographer of the Munich society Hanfstaengl, called Graf Litho, soon enjoyed great popularity. In 1833 he founded his own lithographic institute in Munich. Jahrhundert, bis Kat.-Nr. 310 Bildnis Leo von Klenze, Albumin, 1856 Seltene Variante der wohl in nur zwei voneinander abweichenden Porträts mit Architekturdetail: Leo von Klenze (1784-1864), neben Karl Friedrich Schinkel als bedeutendster Architekt des Klassizismus gewürdigt, hat für die Aufnahme ein klassisches Bauteil als Attribut neben sich aufgestellt – das der griechischen Antike entlehnte Akroterion, Bekrönung des Giebelfirstes und weitere Dachverzierung Die einschlägige Klenze-Literatur bietet die Verbindung des Porträtierten mit dem zeugnishaften Steinrelief aus geringerer Distanz: Hier hat der Baumeister den Dachzierat zu sich herangezogen und zeigt sie – vor sich aufs Bein gestellt – der Kamera wie ein Beglaubigungsschreiben, den Blick dabei weiter nach links gewendet, so in den einschlägigen Klenze-Monographien von A. v. FRANZ SERAPH HANFSTAENGL (1804-1877) Japanese Erotic Scenes, three lithographs stamp ‘FRANZ HANFSTAENGL MUNCHEN’ (on the reverse) lithograph on paper 47.4 x 35.4 cm (each) Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl was a Bavarian painter, lithographer, and photographer. Nicknamed «Count Litho», Hanfstaengl gained popularity by producing lithographic portraits of Munich society. In 1833, he founded his own lithographic establishment in Munich, which he ran until 1868, and to which he later added an art print shop and, in 1853, a photographic studio. Between 1835 and 1852, Franz Hanfstaengl produced some 200 lithographic reproductions of masterpieces from the Dresden picture gallery. Later he became a court photographer and took portraits of the young King Ludwig II of Bavaria, Franz Liszt, Richard Wagner, Otto von Bismarck, the Austrian Empress Elisabeth and many others.

"Im J. 1835 unternahm er dann die lithographische Herausgabe der Dresdener Gallerie und verlegte zu diesem Zwecke einen Theil seines Instituts nach Dresden, wo er etwa 200 der berühmtesten Bilder lithographirte. Unter denselben gelangen ihm die Niederländer am besten und sind nicht ohne das Verdienst einer malerischen und gewandteren Behandlung, als sie damals in Deutschland üblich war, obgleich sie die besseren Arbeiten der Franzosen nicht erreichen.
