      Est: $800 - $1,200

Elaine Hamilton (American, 1920-2010) Painting Three Abstract Expressionist Works: Oil A, Oil B, and Oil C, 1961 A signed l.r., B and C signed l.l., each identified on labels affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, sizes to 23 x 30 in., each framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. Provenance: Gekkoso Nisi Ginza, Tokyo. Note: Hamilton was best known for painting in the style of the present works, but perhaps best remembered as an avid mountain-climber who scaled K2 in the late 1950s. She exhibited throughout Europe and Central Asia, and inspired the Pakistani artist Ismail Gulgee to paint non-objectively.
