Pickett's Charge took place on the third day of the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1–3, 1863) of the Civil War. This engraving shows a panoramic view of the battlefield with Union soldiers in the foreground in the heat of battle. In the background, plumes of smoke are visible as the battle is seen reaching the horizon.
