The daughter of Alfred and Helen (Bozarth) Haerer, Carol was born in Salina, Kan. (1/23/33) and was reared in Nebraska. She traveled extensively throughout Europe and Mexico before returning to the United States to complete her M.A. at the University of California-Berkeley in 1958. She was a founding member of the Berkeley Gallery, the Bay Area's first co-op gallery.
