      Georg Haas (1756 Copenhagen - 1817 ibid.) after Christian August Lorentzen (1749 Sonderborg - 1828 Copenhagen): Siege of Wismar and capitulation by the Danish King Christian V, 1790, Copper engraving Technique: Copper engraving on Paper Inscription: Lower middle signed in the printing plate: "Malet af C. A. Lorentzen | Stukket af Georg Haas". Lower middle inscribed in the printing plate: "Staden Vismars belejring og overgivelse til Kong Christian V". Date: 1790 Description: King Christian V on horseback with his advisors watching the attack on the besiegers of Wismar from a hilltop. Together with Frederick William I of Brandenburg, he drove the Swedes out of Wismar in 1675.       Georg Haas (1756 Copenhagen - 1817 ibid.) attributed: Raufende Jünglinge, Fighting youth, , Etching Technique: Etching on Paper Date: Description: Turbulent genre scene of a group of young men fighting. Near a farmhouse, two pairs of young lads are literally at loggerheads. Fighting and throwing each other to the ground, their expressions show extreme determination and anger. Nevertheless, the small depiction may delight with its lively charm and the wonderfully captured atmosphere of the rural-rustic. With an old attribution to the Danish etcher Georg Haas. Near a farmhouse, two pairs of young guys have literally gotten into a fight. Fighting and throwing each other to the ground, their expressions show extreme determination and anger. Nevertheless, the small-scale portrayal may delight with its lively charm and the wonderfully captured atmosphere of the rural-rustic.   With old attribution to the Danish etcher Georg Haas. The printing plate shows clitches and traces of the artist's work. No signature or inscription - presumably a proof. Keywords: 18th century, Classicism, Costumes, Denmark, Size: 17,2 cm x 25,9 cm, Plate: 7,9 cm x 10,6 cm, Depiction: 5,6 cm x 8,6 cm Condition: Good Condition. The sheet is slightly discoloured due to its age and pale foxing is visible in a few places.
