This charming oil painting is a still life of wine grapes and comes from the hand of a French painter around 1880. The overflowing bowl full of ripe grapes was painted by the artist so fine and realistic, that the effect on the viewer is appetizing. Particularly beautiful are the light reflections in the round, juicy grapes and the color contrast between the yellow and blue fruits that are draped on a white bowl. The oil painting is in a good, age-appropriate condition. The signature lower right 'G. Guillemin' is slightly rubbed. According to the name on the brass plate the artist is G. Guillemin. In the image stretcher marks can be seen, as well as a hole in the right upper third and a small pressure mark top left. The varnish shows craquelure and is in some places rubbed. The stucco frame has hardly any signs of use. The framed dimensions are 43 x 46 cm and the stretcher measures 43 x 45.5 cm.
