Gambart in London, dat. 1853/59. Ca. 32 x 40,5 (3) und 40,5 x 32 cm (2); (Blattgröße: ca. 51 x 69 cm, das 7. Blatt etw. kleiner). (9) Sehr seltene erotische Haremsszenen, hier die Blätter Nr. 1-4 und 7 (für uns im Musée d'Aquitaine, Collection Goupil, nur das 6. Blatt der Folge nachweisbar, unsere Blätter fehlen wohl in der Sammlung). - Das 7. Blatt lithogr. von Régnier, Bettannier und Morlon, erschienen in New York bei M. Knoedler statt bei Goupil und ist 1859 datiert. - "Die Mehrzahl der Lithografien bringt die vermeintlichen Sitten und Gebräuche des Orients in Zusammenhang mit Erotik. Eugène-Charles-François Guérard stellt in einer Serie mit dem Titel "La vie au Serail" aus dem Jahre 1853 jeweils zwei weibliche Akte an unterschiedlichen Orten dar" (Silke Förschler, Populäre Lithografien im Orientalismus des 19. Elles représentent douze jolies danseuses française, grecque, espagnole, bohémienne, américaine, allemande, bernoise, odalisque, cracovienne, anglaise, indienne et romaine. Reliure restaurée, piqûres éparses, déchirure marginale à la planche d'Odalisque.

Der seltene Berliner Druck von Goupil (Paris, London - und New York Knoedler) mit einer Lithographie nach einem Gemälde des französischen Künstlers Eugène-Charles-François Guérard (1821-1866). Eine nackte und eine orientalisch gewandete Bajadere sind auf Polsterkissen gelagert, die kostbaren Sandalen stehen in lässiger Unordnung auf dem Boden, wo auch eine Wasserpfeife vor sich hin raucht. Im Hingergrund lässt ein purpurner Vorhang mit roten Rosen den Blick auf das weite Meer mit wenigen Wolken und einer Bergkette am Horizont frei: "Die Mehrzahl der Lithografien bringt die vermeintlichen Sitten und Gebräuche des Orients in Zusammenhang mit Erotik. Eugène-Charles-François Guérard stellt in einer Serie mit dem Titel La vie au Serail aus dem Jahre 1853 jeweils zwei weibliche Akte an unterschiedlichen Orten dar" (Silke Förschler, Populäre Lithografien im Orientalismus des 19. Alte Geschlechterbilder im neuen Medium, 2009). - Ränder mit kleinen, Läsuren und filmgeklebten Einrissenteils, etwas angestaubt, die Darstellung aber sehr sauber und in leuchtender, bemerkenswert frischer und schöner Farbigkeit. Sehr seltenes Blatt.
