Hans Friedrich Grohs musste es als Professor der staatlich anerkannten Kunsthochschule Bremen erleben, dass einige seiner frühen expressionistischen Werke, vor allem Graphiken, 1937 im Zuge der Aktion "Entartete Kunst" aus den Museen in Kiel, Weimar und Wuppertal entfernt wurden - wahrscheinlich war den Parteigenossen, die die Aktion im Auftrag von Adolf Ziegler, Präsident der Reichskammer der bildenden Künste, durchführten, der Bremer Kunstprofessor unbekannt. Noch 1933 war Grohs in Dithmarschen als "nordischer Maler" und Vertreter eines "nordischen Expressionismus" gefeiert worden. – Titel und 1. Blatt mit Randläsuren durch Wurmfraß.
