      Dorflandschaft im Winter Öl auf Holz. 27 x 40 cm. In dekorativem schwarzem Rahmen. Beigegeben ein Gutachten von Dr. Klaus Ertz, Lingen, vom 23. März 2020, in Kopie. Blick von erhöhtem Standpunkt auf eine Winterlandschaft mit einem am Fluss gelegenen Dorf. Von zwei am linken mittleren Bildrand gelegenen Häusern führt ein Weg hinunter ins Tal, auf dem zwei Pferde einen Schlitten mit einem Mann in hellblauer Jacke ziehen. Rechts unten im Tal eine größere Gebäudeanlage mit zahlreichen Figuren am Ufer, aber auch auf dem zugefrorenen Fluss. Für den Künstler typisch sind seine Winterlandschaften mit genrehaften Szenen, die das tägliche realistische Leben in der damaligen Zeit darstellen. Die am linken Bildrand und in der Mitte skurril anmutenden Bäume mit ihrem verzweigten Astwerk finden sich in dem Werk des Künstlers sowohl in Sommer- als auch in Winterlandschaften wieder und sind so etwas wie eine Signatur. Das vorliegende Gemälde an Grisaillemalerei erinnernd, überwiegend in grau-weißer Farbgebung, aufgelockert durch wenige rote und blaue Farbakzente durch die Kleidung der dargestellten Figuren. Laut Ertz stammt das Gemälde aus der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts, wurde möglicherweise sogar in Holland geschaffen, wo der Künstler 1716 Amsterdamer Bürger wurde. Anmerkung: Der Künstler war ein Landschaftsmaler des 18. Jahrhunderts aus London, der in Amsterdam tätig war. Er malte dort italienische Landschaften in der Art des Herman Saftleeven.
