      Grevenbroeck, Jan, called Il Solfarolo (attributed) — Lively port of a fortified Italian city (Born Dordrecht, active around 1667-1695 in Italy, especially Milan) Oil on chestnut wood. 50 x 68,5 cm. - According to the attached expert opinion of Dr. Didier Bodart, the navy can be attributed to the painter Jan (Giovanni) Grevenbroeck, who received his nickname ''Il Solfarolo'' because he was able to paint landscapes with fires extraordinarily well, and who is the successor of Claude Lorrain. // Grevenbroeck, Jan, gen.       (attivo tra il 1667/1695) Paesaggio Olio su tela, cm 96X135 Il dipinto reca una tradizionale attribuzione a Jan Grevenbroeck, detto il Solfarolo 'a cagione d'un certo suo genio di dipingere vedute di paesi, che ardessero' (C. G. Ratti, 'Delle Vite de Pittori Scultori ed Architetti genovesi Tomo Secondo...', Genova 1769, p. 199). Il pittore, documentato a Roma nel 1667 e nel 1668 con il nome di Giovanni Fangrefenbruch fu, secondo il Ratti, nel 1680-1687 a Milano e maestro di Carlo Antonio Tavella.
