April Greiman (1948- ) was born in New York City. She pursued graphic design at Allgemeine Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland, and the Kansas City Art Institute. Her style developed into postmodernism, with strong influence of Her career began simultaneously as a graphic designer and teacher. She later moved to L.A. and opened her own graphic design studio called "Made in Space," which greatly influenced the Californian New Wave. She was one of the first to utilize Paintbox on Apple computers to great effect, becoming a pioneer of digital imaging. Her design work has been used by many companies, including AOL/Time Warner, Microsoft, and the US Postal Service. April Greiman has won many awards, and her work has been exhibited at the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, and is in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
