Measurements: 21 x 26 x 12 cm. This polished stainless steel water pitcher with embossed dots, 1991 design, can hold both hot and cold liquids because of its blue and maroon resin handle. It can be considered a characteristic and identifying piece of both architecture and product design of its time. It is a piece out of production. Michael Graves, a prominent American designer and architect, studied architecture at Princeton from 1962. His architectural works include the Portland Building and the Humana Building, the Whitney Museum of American Art expansion, and the Newark Museum. In addition to being a principal of Michael Graves and Associates and Michael Graves Design Group, he was a member of The New York Five and the Memphis Group and a professor of architecture at Princeton University for nearly forty years. Measurements: 19 x 39 x 39 cm. Michael Graves designed cheese dish, consisting of a ceramic board and a transparent plastic lid topped by a knob in the shape of a little mouse. Here Michael Graves' design features this charming cartoon mouse on the outside of the domed plastic lid, staring at the screen with a delightful looking ceramic "Swiss cheese". The adorable mouse reminds us of Topo Gigio, star of a TV show aired in both Italy and Spain in the 1960s, but best known in the United States for his appearances on the Ed Sullivan show. Or perhaps it was a nod by Graves to another famous mouse, as he designed numerous buildings for Disney beginning in the mid-1980s. Michael Graves, a prominent American designer and architect, studied architecture at Princeton beginning in 1962. Signed with impressed / incised Graves name / signature on the underside. Dimensions: 12 X 10.75 X 8 in. Condition: Good preowned overall condition having normal surface wear. Graves designed several buildings for the Walt Disney Company and these two pieces were likely designed for the interior of one of those buildings. They resemble a pile of papers, each sheet designed with a different pattern on it, many of which contain the image of Mickey Mouse on them.
