The piece is signed Estelle Goodman. It is on a wood base with a black laminate covering. please note there is an area of damage to the wood / laminate base as photographed.         A highly detailed pair of antique bronze lamps from the estate of Estelle Goodman (1930-2007, American). This pair of matching lamps is decorated in a Gothic / Elizabethan style with a filigree frieze at the top of the lamp around the switch, leading into a stylized leafy design over top a stippled background with bands and scrolls. Next is a bulbous area of crests with detailed heads of ladies and gentlemen each in period costume and with an appropriate headpiece. Their facial features are individual and detailed. This is atop a banded elongated Pearl frieze, another leafy detail and then another highly detailed frieze of mustachioed gargoyle type faces set in between architectural details. The lamp sits atop a four footed base on an elongated X type support with pad feet. The four sockets are in current working condition, there is a wrapped cord on each lamp, the lamps have not been rewired. The bronze is in good condition with age appropriate wear. The finishes are not the same as one exhibits a more polished appearance. Please note some verdigris patina throughout. Also one lamp does not sit straight. There are no finials. This pair of table lamps each has a black painted metal base, a glass cylinder that has been reverse painted, decoupaged and gilt, a black painted metal top with attached harps and metal finials. The designs in each lamp are similar. One lamp has a pair of rearing bucks wearing collars on either side of an architectural detail resembling a crowned crest. The words Tien. Ta. Foy. are presented on a ribbon under the architectural element. The other lamp has a pair of rearing winged bucks on either side of an architectural detail resembling a crest with a crown at the top.
